Steak

Ingredients

  • 16 ounce Ribeye Steak (1.25 inch thick)

  • Salt

  • Pepper

  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Instructions

*If frozen, make sure steak is thawed completely*

  1. One hour before cooking, remove steak from refrigerator

  2. Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil and rub around

  3. Coat, almost excessively with salt and pepper

  4. Let rest at room temperature for one hour (bringing the steak's internal temp to room temp)

  5. On a 450 degree Fahrenheit grill, sear steak for two minutes

  6. Rotate steak (to ensure crisscross grill marks) and sear for another two minutes

  7. Flip steak and sear for 3.5 minutes for the perfect medium-rare steak

    1. Sear for 1 additional minute for medium

  8. Remove and let rest 7 minutes (YES this is necessary)

  9. Eat!
