Pita Bread

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups Warm Water

  • 2.25 teaspoons Yeast

  • 2 tablespoons Sugar

  • 3 cups Flour

  • 0.75 cup Whole Wheat Flour

  • 2 teaspoons Salt

  • 3 tablespoons Olive Oil

Instructions

  1. In stand mixer, combine water, yeast, and sugar and let proof for a couple minutes

  2. Add flour, whole wheat flour, salt and 2 tablespoons of olive oil

  3. Mix well and kneed for 8-10 minutes

  4. Coat with remaining olive oil and let rest for 1.5 hours

  5. Cut into 12 pieces and shape into balls

  6. Roll the dough balls out to 6-8 inch diameter sheets

  7. Let rest 20 minutes

  8. In a hot (400 degrees Fahrenheit) pan or grill, cook the bread for about 3 minutes on each side

  9. Eat!
