Rajma Chawal

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoon Olive Oil

  • 1 Onion (chopped)

  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)

  • 1 teaspoon Ginger (minced)

  • Spices

    • 1 tablespoon Coriander Powder

    • 1 teaspoons Ground Cumin

    • 1 teaspoon Turmeric

    • 1 teaspoon Chili Powder

    • 1 teaspoon Garam Masala

    • 1 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper

  • 1 can (15.5 ounces) Diced Tomatoes (finely chopped)

  • 2 cans (15.5 ounces each) Kidney Beans

  • 1.5 cups Water

  • 2 tablespoons Plain Yogurt

  • Salt and Pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pot, stir in the onion and fry for about 3-4 minutes over medium heat.

  2. Add garlic, ginger, spices, and tomatoes and sauté for a few minutes until aromatic

  3. Add Beans and water - bring to a boil and reduce heat to low and cook for 1 hour

  4. Add yogurt, salt, and pepper to taste

  5. Serve warm with Basmati Rice, Flatbread, or Naan

  6. Eat!
